A bunch of seasoned members gave rave reviews of TL’s scam cigars...until he was exposed. Then...crickets.

Maybe I have selective amnesia (wouldn't be the first time) but I do not remember there being many reviews of his smokes...I do remember a few people after the fact saying the cigars were not very good...but in the case of JOs cigars its been going on for a number of years now with mostly positive reviews from what I can see.

Yep....people loved them.  Some spent upwards of 20k on those cigars.  Then it all came crashing down.

History does repeat itself...

I, myself, have posted many positive reviews of John’s cigars. Been buying from him since ‘04, and as recently as last month. The only negative I’ve ever posted is that I have yet to smoke a single one that was anything at all like the cigars they are purported to be. Same size...no similarity in flavors.

Interesting...I have smoked through nearly all of the EL line and have associated the flavors with the cigars they are modeled after to a certain degree...but make no mistake, with the inconsistency of CC cigars saying something tastes like or doesnt taste like something is pretty futile and foolhardy...I realize that...the good news is that the cigars are awesome so I stopped worrying about "what they were" a long time ago...mystery adds to the romance of the cigars I guess...

You know Claus...I just didnt have any desire or want to try those...did you grab any? I am not a huge fan of either vitola and I made the mistake of buying the Hamlet 25th from RP...so I passed on the nudies.

I am trading for a fiver but I don’t have high hopes. I couldn’t stand any of the Hamlet RP collaborations so as much as I wish the guy success (and I loved his Cuban custom rolls) he needs better raw material to work with.

What a surprise. Zebrasocks is once again hijacking a thread. If you want to talk about Rob's cigars, why not create a different thread? Perhaps not in BZ? Or better yet, use one of the many that is already in existence (here or there)?  :horse:

On topic (somewhat), just had a EL Robusto. Fantastic as usual, to quote mbflash80 "the cigars are awesome so I stopped worrying about "what they were" a long time ago".
