Here`s what happened with me and Vin.
Regardless of what people think of me, here`s what happened.

I bought the ENE MGE`s for 180.00 delivered because i thought they were 1st production.
I rested them for approx. 6 wks. When i smoked one i knew they were fakes, because i had already smoked 6 out of 2 other authetic boxes i have.
I`ve been smokin CC`s for 20 yrs.

At 1st Vinny said i couldnt know they were fake from one cigar.
So i went and compared his box with the 2 others i have.
His box was bigger, wider and longer, i know, thats what she said.

Also, and this was the kicker, the MONTE CROSSED SWORDS AND ALL MARKINGS ON HIS BOX WERE STAMPED IN INK, NOT BRANDED INTO THE WOOD.

So oh, at this point he agreed to take them back, and he refunded the 180.00.
Also during out quid pro quo i asked him 3 times where he got them, and it would be nice to tell everyone not to buy from those people, so far no one else has asked him where he got these cigars in question and he has never told me where he got them.

Also, there are multiple articles online about fake Cohiba Sublimes out of Spain a few yrs. ago. So now we have 3 boxes called into question from Vinnie.
He also said he had just bought a house at the time and needed money.
One of the experts here should look at these Sublimes, not me.

Do i think nanillas Sublimes are fake, yes i do, 100%.
And he should be made whole, Vinnie says he spent the money
from Nanilla, then he should send him some real cigars in exchange.

Some boxes are warped,
some boxes don't close.
And some boxes are a different shade altogether.

Some arrive inked lightly,
some come inked heavily.
That's what you call variability.

:fro:

Why are you so vested in this avioli, are you involved in nanilla's claim? Are you his "expert?" Aren't you on the scumbag list for trying to hold on to someone's cash? It sounds to me like you weaseled a free stick from massphatness, given that you are on the scumbagslist.

I told Vinnie i didnt even want my money back.
I just wanted to return the damn things.
It was him who said he would give a refund after i sent them back to him.
But hey, nice spin to get people off the point that he sold some fakes, if he knew they were fake or not.
I`m no expert, far from it, but i know a real CC from a bogus one after a minute or 2.

Scumbag list or not is irrelevant when it comes to cigar legitimacy imo.  Have we seen any pics or objective analysis of the actual cigars (either group) in question?  Someone without an interest in the outcome (as relating to one side of the argument or the other) should be doing the analysis, not the seller or the buyer.  Sounds like the sublime issue has already been laid to rest anyway....

I have no dog in this fight, but may be able to shed a little light on the subject.  I've new to OH, but not cigars.  I'm an old guy and certainly not an expert, but have gained a little knowledge after 40 years of enjoying them.  I don't know the OP personally, but have traded with him a couple of times on another site.

When the OP listed his for sale items I responded on another site that I was interested in the Sublines and asked that he send me pictures, which he provided.  When I looked at the pictures, especially those of the box, a flag went up for me.  I have never seen an LE box completely devoid of stickers/habanos label, nothing.  Knowing that these were quite often faked, there was no way I was going to purchase them.  I debated on whether or not I should say anything to the OP, or simply say I'll pass.  I decided to address it as best I could without pissing him off.  I sent the pictures to two BOTL that I trust; both have more knowledge than I do.  Both came back and simply stated fake in their opinion.

I then went back to the OP and stated that I and a couple of others thought they were fakes and asked where he got them, to which he stated he had bought them in a trade.  I suggested he get more opinions and discuss with the original seller.

Bottom line for me, fake or not, it was my decision not to buy them because I thought, and still do think, they are fake.  But, just my personal opinion, no more no less.

I will add that the cigars themselves looked okay in the pictures, but without seeing them in hand or smoking one I actually don't know.  What I do know is for me something was wrong.

Bottom line, I suspect this is how this whole thread started.

It seems that the original seller and OP have worked it out, which is good.

wow, you still have a fro, i havnt seen one of those since i was in college in the 60`s.
what are you a Black Panther, very scary.

This ain`t about me, it`s about someone getting away with 1400.00 for one box of fake cigars.
As far as the Monte box,,,,,,
All MGE boxes are branded with the crossed swords of the Count of Montecristo into the wood, not rubber ink stamped or stenciled.

Not stenciled or stamped

Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time putting much into comments made by someone who is on the scumbag list.  But that is just me............

So u wanna sweep it under the rug.
Vinnie tried to make a few xtra bucks when he bought a new house.
The 180.00 to me and the other refund he gave  were small, but the 1400.00
he took this kid for is being ignored. Nanilla is in med school, and his wife just had a baby a few months ago. And he just moved out of a house to a small apt. Yeah, i talked to him.

Thats a good boy Brad, use me on the list to deflect
the fact that one of the good ole boys sold fake cigars.
You need to put your hatred for me aside, and wonder what made Vinny think he could get away with it. He belongs right along side me on the list.

And guess what, i live 1/2 a minute from Holts, o you know that.
You live about 2 hrs from me, anytime you wanna say somethin to my face, lmk
i`ll  hobble over to Holts and meet you.
