Credit goes to many people, not just myself. Having a critical eye and asking the right questions is something anyone can do, imo. But thanks.
There will be more photos/comparisons to come, hopefully not just from me. I think the more people who look at the product they have compared to known-good samples, the better.

Among the best and most comprehensive cigar comparisons I've seen.
Very well done!

The only comment I have, and this one is for the skeptics out there (and those who think y'all are torch carrying witch-hunters), of which I'm neither...
Is in the OP, it'd be good to tie the purchase of that cigar in somewhere (thread it was for sale in etc.)....which may mean the person who provided it to you may not be able to remain anonymous, or perhaps he can.
But if the questions asked of TL mainly go back to "source"....I think the same should hold true of how THIS particular fake was obtained.
I don't doubt it for a second, but that would prevent any doubt whatsoever from being cast.

KPP, I think it'd be more useful simply to have more people do similar examinations of the cigars that they have. Preponderance of the evidence, and all that.
Because similar to what you mention, even if the person this cigar came from is outed, people who really want to be skeptical can just say that *I* am making things up.
Far better to simply have as many people as possible do similar critical examinations of the cigars that they have, and post the results. There shouldn't be any one person who could be cast as "biased" or the villain.

Don't disagree with that either...and hopefully more of these side-by-sides will surface. Both as further evidence, and more importantly for exposure as to what other faked marcas look like for us average joes. Not that we'll ever be seeing these cigars in question as it is (certainly not the REAL ones), but should we ever come across one, we'll have a point of reference to compare against at least.
There's too many cigars out there to account for, but the more that can be shown here, the better.

Bands - night and day
Cigar - The cigar looks like a typical custom rolled cigar from the shape of the head, the unevenness below the head and at the last 3rd.

You guys are the best detectives ever... good work. I fear that this evidence may be just the beginning of a long line of fakes, especially if this guy owns a print shop ! Yikes... and without having the known original for side-by-side comparison, I would have never picked up those minor details and flaws. You guys get the non-dancing cop.

Just to clear something up... it doesn't look like the print shop ("Print Run") is involved in any way, other than the fact that they have mailboxes available for rent. ->
.....
BTW, regarding "Print Run" (which others have mentioned here on OLH with regard to TL already) -- the establishment located here:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/print-run-los-angeles
...rents mailboxes. And at least one person has mentioned to me that TL stated he had to wait until "his mailbox place opened"
Which implies that he rents a mailbox there. I called "Print Run", and was told that they do indeed rent mailboxes, and the cost was $8.50 per year for individuals.
The gentleman on the phone also verified that it was not 24/7 access to the mailboxes, it was only during business hours. Which supports the above assertion.

isnt it just a bit weird that the comments on Yelp for Print Run almost mirror the comments for TL here? "Richard is the best" "Richard saved my life" etc...I'm sorry but that just seems way too coincidental...
