Like I have said on another board, just cause we both smoke cigars does not make you my brother, we are just two guys who smoke cigars.  That is unless he have actually herfed together, spent time, bonded, shared a drink, or have some connection.  As we have seen it is easy for people to get caught up in the "he is a nice guy, great brother, great deal, etc.".  But at the end of the day unless we have meet and formed some bond they are just another guy who smokes cigars, and this one just wanted to lie and rip people off.  I hope it all works out for everyone and we get back to smoking the real stuff.  Hopefully this sticks will be purged out and not dropped back into the community.

Like I said elsewhere, we will be watching to see if these start showing up in passes/trades/sales.  If they do it will be on the purveyer to make it good or face their own consequences.

I find it interesting that Sig is MIA on this matter. I have posted his comments on Richard.  When a guy with 600 posts is pumping a product and has no bad comments. Most people will trust what he states.  I have no idea how you can back someone 1000% when: You have never met them and have not know them for any length of time. IMO, when you back someone 100% in a groups you are responsible for there actions, or your word means nothing. The dummy defense is not a wayout on this one. How can you resell boxes of ciagrs to people and then play dumb? Was Richard your source for these Ciagrs??

I don't know.  Standing up for someone is admirable.  Little disappointed in Sigsauer (whom I still consider friend) how he said CF was nothing more than a website and how he kinda dissed friends he's made at CF over 10+ years for just asking questions.  One thing about moki & Ninja they just were looking for facts and being pretty darn "gentlemenly"  but how you can stand-up for a guy you've never met, known for 4 months through an internet site and tell folks you know have very good (at minimum) cigar knowledge/experience that they have "no clue" is really kinda mind boggling.

People handle things differently and i certainly understand how someone who's popped big bucks into something non-authentic cant bring themselves to see the forest through the trees.  For me I'd rather chalk it up to a great learning experience (most cigar enthusiasts have bought fakes - usually early in their endeavors).

A few things to take from this if you buy cigars.

(1) If someone is "chummy" but never herfed with anyone from your cigar board and sells tons of stuff.  They aren't in it to help bruddahs.  They're in it for something else.

(2) If someone has access to unreleased in "unlimited" quantity it's a red flag.

(3)  Someone who is a celebrity/super wealthy isn't going to waste time sending out 100's of cigars to "website enthusiasts"  They may at best hand out a bunch free at an event or to friends.  but not take the time to package up 100's of cigar packages to send to folks on websites they've never met.

(4) It's like religion, if it doesn't encourage you to "seek truth" or or challenge it's authenticity, run.

This is the reason you were the first person I met from a cigar board.  And I am still thankful for that.

It's not my intent to put words in your mouth, but this makes me wonder what really was going on. How many rare cigars does it take to buy someone. Or could it be as unseemly as cash payoffs? I certainly hope not, but your post above has me thinking that it's not all as cut and dry as it seems.  Again, not that you implied anything, it's just my own musing and opinion.  Although I do remember another member drawing that line and Tom getting his nose bent out of shape about it. I'll have to go research that.
