Love the Exclusivo blend, and dont have many Viaje.....plus giving a good BOTL (Mark) some business doesnt hurt either!!!!

Thanks Mark!

I think your consideration comes into play when you get 1000+ boxes made of a blend so you do what you can to support a great Cigar Shop.  But, when we're talking only 100 boxes being made, you really don't have a choice but to jump on them at first opportunity.  Let's not act like these wouldn't have been sold if the both of us didn't buy them.   ;)

Agreed Mark is top notch. With a total of 100 boxes he put a limit on them so he could spread them around as much as possible.

This is my first Tower order.  But I actually talked to Mark a couple days beforehand and he was top notch all the way.

So is it 100 or 200?  Maybe 100 boxes to be sold as such and the other 100 to be split up into 5'ers?  That would explain the 29 that got released.  Maybe all the 5'ers didn't go....

Had an OR Exclusivo Robusto last night, last one.  Nommy.  Full bodied and full flavor for sure.

There were actually only 98 boxes, since Andre kept one for himself, and Mark (at Tower) had a box before the release to give to people to try...Mark had some problems with the net when selling, and did NOT want to oversell, so he pulled the sale a bit early, then realized that he had a few more boxes to go around...He is on the up and up, a GREAT retailer and BOTL...

On the subject of the cigars themselves, I agree that I have not been buying boxes of Andre's stuff lately (like, in the last year) but I was lucky enough to get a prerelease sample, and I think this is going to be one of those cigars that people kick themselves for not buying after everything is said and done...

We will see what people think when they get to smoke them :)

I hope I didn't give the impression with my initial post that I had anything other than the highest opinion of Mark. He's a true gentleman and a wonderful merchant who goes out of his way to please his customers.  It's just the increasing frequency of these" limited" releases that gets to me. And I remain flummoxed why Andre can make such great cigars for limited distribution but cannot produce regular production cigars that I enjoy.

I believe it is as simple as that is the way Andre prefers to do business. He seems more interested in very limited release cigars than he is in a regular production stick. It seems to work well for him. I am not saying it is right but it must work or he would not continue to do so.

I sure didn't take it as negativity towards Mark in any way, just as frustration to the ever growing amount of "limited" releases.

And I don't get it either, but I also don't know enough about the growing of tobacco to comment.

Sadly, I see more and more of these "limited" releases on the horizon.  It's good marketing.  Even if the cigar isn't that good, it still gets bought because "it's a limited release so it must be good."

That's why I got to trust the word of people like Brooks, who smokes a lot of limited release stuff before the release.  I'll be honest, I stayed away from the "Tattoo" release because of the review.  It was either a bundle of "Tattoos" or the box of 45s.  And since i've smoked the Exclusivo blend and the reviews on the Tattoo were mixed, I went 45s.  I don't have the capital to keep buying every freaking release that comes out.

I don't think anyone took it that way :)

Andre's whole point in his business is to sell limited amounts of specific blends...It has nothing to do with limited tobacco etc...He does not WANT to release these as regular production cigars.
