I have had this happen a few times and also someone has an ISO and you answer. I hear nothing back until someone list it MUCH higher, them you want mine........nope(they weren't for sale in the first place, was really just helping you out.)

Just curious if it bothers/offends the sellers on here when your pm'd asking about breaking up sells as well. Not asking to pay less just break them up if they don't sell. I have done this a few times and hope I didn't unintentionally offend anyone. TIA, Dan

Re: Some people just make me scratch my head.
This goes both ways, I've posted an ISO thread and received PM's stating " I have XXXX, Make me an offer"
I don't deal in offering....Give me a price and I'll pay it or I won't simple, quick and easy. I never respond to those PMs.
Also I'll have people PM'ing me with horrendously gouged prices on new stock.....$80-$90 bucks more on a fresh to 1 year box. I do not respond to those PM's either.
I don't see a problem with someone offering a bit lower if you responded to their ISO, if the price is in the thread...eh it doesn't bother me too much. Generally I sell cigars for what I paid for them. Everyone knows aged stock costs more, my prices might reflect that. But again it's usually exactly or VERY close to what I paid for them. Shipping prices are shipping prices and are usually out of my control but I definitely combine shipping with multiple items they best I can.

I will weigh in here and say that offers are certainly not against the rules, and what happens in PMs is generally a private matter. I will further say that openly or slyly trying to elicit bids is another story, but it's never happened (as far as I know).

After balling me out you have guts to open a battle zone thread, I'll give you that.
Not that you are wrong, you just have guts.

I've had this happen several times as well, or they answer back and say that they found them elsewhere but later on they end up wanting to buy them, and at this point they aren't for sale anymore. I dislike it as well when people pm and want something cheaper, if you dont like the price look else where, in my opinion. I've never asked someone to lower there price, so I expect the same I guess.

I'm not picking on you, just using your post since it mentioned a point I was curious about.
So for people who don't like getting PM'd with an offer of less than what they were asking, is it the fact that someone sent you a message you have to read and then reply to that is the bad part? I'm sure all of us have seen prices on here that were too high for xx item, does THAT person deserve to get PM's asking for the item at a reasonable price?
I guess I'm just curious which part of someone asking you if you'll take xx dollars for yy item is the bad part. The extra effort you have to take to reply "Not interested" or do you feel insulted because someone else put a different value on your cigars?
For my part, I know what fair prices are for the items I'm interested in, if I see a seller with something and the price is out of line... Well, I probably don't want to be doing business with them anyway... And I'm in no way commenting on anyone balling or bawling with CB.

Re: Some people just make me scratch my head.
Bawling aside,
The price of an item is open to interpretation, as in MSRP : GMAB (give me a break). Look to any site and this number is crossed out with a good 20% reduction, so that number might not work.
However. If beside that number it says "Out of stock" forever, then the price is what folks will pay. And please remember some of us pay 200%+ tax here in the boonies so no matter what you charge, it is a bargain... but get ready to feel the wrath of your BOTL who know better.
If the price seems high, wait an hour it seems the next post shows a price reduction, as the market takes care of this in its own way.
Cheers,
CB
