It's one thing to be stupid, it's dangerous for a stupid person to think he's smart
There is such a thing as a "special kind of stupid"

Re: Mooches - What to do???
I always keep some JLP's in the humi. Many see Cuba on the band are are thrilled. The people who admit they don't know much - I will give them the good stuff and try to help them out. The true mooch will get the cigars that came with the cheap humidor purchase (my wife likes to use them as Jewelry boxes).
When given a cigar I will smoke it with them. I figure I can choke it down and be polite. If it is just a gift then I may give it away to somebody else and lie about how good it was.

Re: Mooches - What to do???
Two of my former co-workers got me into cigars about three years ago. To this day, one of them thinks Onyx are super premiums. The other guy thinks Perdomo is as close to a Havana as we can get here in the states. I've tried to hook them up with good - and even great - smokes (stuff like Camacho Liberty, Anejos, Boli CJ, etc.). No effect whatsoever!
I love smoking with these guys, but I always keep cheap smokes on hand for them. I envy them in a way...I'd save a hell of a lot of money if I was perfectly content with Oliva G's, Onyx, and La Vieja Habana

My most classic experience was when in a gathering, this smooch told me he quit smoking cigars after I offered him a stick, but as soon as I pulled out a Cohiba to smoke, he said: "Ohhh you got Cohibas! I'll smoke one"... :ordr:

This is simply classic. I hope you told him he was cut of... for "his own good!"

Re: Mooches - What to do???
Never had the "mooch deal" in general I'll give away $5-$7 sticks all day If you'll at least finish them in some way or fashion. My higher end sticks I keep to myself. If I'm bringing cigars for people the same rule applies $5-$7 a stick I won't care. I usually bring $5-$6 tubos as they look nice and people always enjoy that extra presentation.
