Why only these offhanded one-line responses? They actually make your position weaker.
If you have info, please share it with the community so we can make better informed decisions.
I want to take you seriously, but you are making it difficult.

I am not one to be taken seriously. I know very little about cigars. Never mind cubans......
I am just grateful wade has a spce where people can be civil about hotly contested topics.
Peace be with you brother.

Thank you for the response.
I am in no position to question the amount of knowledge or experience any one person has on any subject. I come into conversations giving all parties the benefit of the doubt, and that they have easily acknowledged intentions. I take the information they are willing to share, then I make my own decisions, with only my own self accountable for listening and acting.
That is why I ask for you to share. If you are willing, thank you. If not, I can only go with what I’ve got.
Peace to you, too.

Re: Novedosos from Johnny
Vinnie tried this at Cigarpass about 5-7 years ago. Rod the administrator told him to be quiet and and stated that the cigars are as advertised. A few years ago he tried it again at FOH. Rob "El Presidente" told him to STFU as well and said the cigars are as advertised. Rob also said that you are interfering with peoples livelyhoods on both sides and that you needed to think this a little more intelligently. I guess you never got those messages. Now he is trying it again at Cigar Family and more recently by thread jacking Sandmans review. I have been trading at CF 20 years. Look at my references there if you are concerned about my integrity. I have traded cigars here at OLH possibly as far back as 20 years when it was Danny M's site. I have never sold Vinnie a EL cigar. He has no information, no proof, no magic bullet, no grassy knoll, no nothing. Otherwise he would come forward with it. The funny thing is my sales go through the roof every time Vinnie talks. You need to get a life brah. Spend some time with your wife, go hug your kids, tell your mom you love her. Class dismissed, John

Re: Novedosos from Johnny
John has been selling unbanded cigars for many, many years. Some really love them, others not so much.
Personally, I have enjoyed most of what I’ve smoked from him, and found them a reasonable value.
Comparing him to Triple Ligero is grossly unfair. TL had no history on the boards. John has tons. TL showed up, ripped off, and disappeared.
If you don’t think that his cigars are smoking well, or feel that they’re a poor value, by all means step up and share your opinion. I’m always interested in BOTLs experiences. But an ad hominem attack is a waste of time. Provide your experiences, or any factual information you might possess. But innuendo is poor form.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but there is a little revisionist history going on in your post. I remember that thread and at one point Rob had essentially said that claiming anything coming from EL in large quantities was nonsense. After the thread was getting heated lots of posts were deleted and he said that off board issues had no place on his forum. Rob said that he had never had the cigars in question which is a far stretch from saying that are “as advertised.” If something else has been said by Rob about the cigars in question since, I would be very interested in seeing a screenshot or a link to the post.

I would be interested as well.
I thought this is the thread that was in question???? Must have been in another thread?

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. TL was selling fakes claiming that they were the real thing including banding. I don't recall what he was getting for them. I seem to recall that the prices were high but not market for HTFs
JO is selling cigars that he claims come from good stock, but he provides no provenance and makes it clear he will not provide provenance. Prices are what I would consider very good for any hand rolled cigar, the questions are obvious, and the risk to the buyer is clear. Let each make his own decision.
[/quote]
I believe he was asking for a 20 or 25 dollar donation for a stick... I think he was peddling fake palm tree lanceros and 1966s that he was claiming were "diplomatic cigars"...

Re: Novedosos from Johnny
why anyone would pay 600-900/box for EL rolled Cohiba Sigs/BHK/Talisman when you can just buy them from JO for a fraction of the price is beyond me. Are the bands worth that much?
Cheers
