FWIW, Venmo is owned by PP (95% sure)

Yes, PP owns Venmo. 100% sure.

I noticed that the last couple of times I've used PP, F&F option isn't a choice anymore. Asks to send or request money, if you hit the send option, it goes right to which card you want to use and no fee is charged unless you use a credit card.

F&F was never intended for purchases, that is pretty obvious.
PP needs to make their $$ somewhere. Personally I have never used F&F for anything, ever. I always ask the seller and add 3%. If you can't afford $9 on a $300 box of cigars you need to find a different hobby. As has been demonstrated many times on this site (and others) if you use F&F you have no recourse. I really love the "oh damn, I got scammed and I used F&F" posts. (point being that the person was actually scamming PP at the time they lost their money) If you pay the way it is intended to be used you have about all the protection you will ever get on a person to person purchase.

Except it’s against their policy to pay for tobacco purchases and illegal to pay for CC purchases, so you’re still scamming PP.

Well, that's a shame. I've used PP for years in all facets with zero problems. Of course, I'm not using it daily to move money around but I have used it for just about anything imaginable that has to do with money. I just checked and my account still has the friends option.
I haven't gotten any updates from ebay on the change. But then again I may have and just deleted it. :-[
Zelle is good and I've used it a few times thru my WF account.

Wow! Sorry to hear that. I am sure there will be a work around. Shame since pp is so easy to use.
