A coolerdor doesn't keep things cooler, but it does protect them from temperature spikes.

Example:  If you live in a non-AC home where it is cool at night (60F) and hot during the day (90F), the cooler would keep the materials inside more moderated, probably 70-75F.  If the temp never dips below 75, the material in the cooler won't either.

A coolerdor kept in a corner of the basement in a dark area is the best option if you don't have any temperature control of the home.
