Ya no smoke breaks and no pooping at work either i pay you to work, not pray to a God different than Christians and Jews!
/ thats sarcasm for those that miss the point. I mean Cargill did as much as possible and I dont fault them. But praying isnt the issue. Not showing up to work is the issue.

Happy for them practicing the right to choose unemployment over the practice of their religion which gives them rights non-Muslims don't get. Get along or go to the house. ....their freedom of choice.

Actually non-Muslims have the exact same right. At that employer, too.

I'm glad they fired them. If I missed hours of work every day for prayer my white ass would be unemployed!😆

The first fool that tried to pull a stunt like that at either of my businesses would be told "I am all in favor of your right to prayer, but you might want to make your next prayer be that the line at the unemployment office isn't too long".

The bullshit about this is.. A buddy of mine is a Leo that works in the jail at the moment... The Muslims there have their "prayer" times 5 times a day but when a Christian asked to have a sunrise prayer once on Easter Sunday. They are rejected... Freedom is freedom. Don't give freedom to one and not the other... This damn society is scared to stand up for its beliefs anymore... Scared it might offend someone... Bullshit if you ask me

You mean they have the right to stop coming to work and keep their jobs?

In reading the article, Cargill made every effort to accommodate their employees based on religious faith.

What a joke....praying 5X a day!
Its utterly ridiculous.....do your fucking job and pray on your own time.
"It don't matter if I don't have a job, my religion is more important," Aden told CBS News.
Good for Aden...maybe they should have not hired them to begin with.
Give the American non-muslims the jobs.
Job abandonment is cause for dismissal!
how many times do people get smoke breaks a day at work?
If people get a break to go have a cig, Muslims should be able to get a break to pray. Also not all 5 are while they are working. Just while they are awake.

Directly from the Dept. of Labor:
Breaks & Meal Periods
Federal law does not require lunch or coffee breaks. However, when employers do offer short breaks (usually lasting about 5 to 20 minutes), federal law considers the breaks as compensable work hours that would be included in the sum of hours worked during the work week and considered in determining if overtime was worked. Unauthorized extensions of authorized work breaks need not be counted as hours worked when the employer has expressly and unambiguously communicated to the employee that the authorized break may only last for a specific length of time, that any extension of the break is contrary to the employer's rules, and any extension of the break will be punished.
Bona fide meal periods (typically lasting at least 30 minutes), serve a different purpose than coffee or snack breaks and, thus, are not work time and are not compensable.
Breaks are not required. If you get one, be glad you do. And no, religious beliefs are absolutely not a reason for multiple breaks during the day regardless of what religion it is.
