input on Gun purchase

Yea...they are a little bit like a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry. Extremely reliable and the market is flooded with replacement/aftermarket parts which are reasonably priced.

For me it came down to feel. I just could never get past the plastic feeling.

Anyway, post back with what you decide to do.

Also Wade is a gun enthusiast. He may point you in the direction of some good forums or may personally have some valuable input.

I might have an issue with the "plastic" feel as well. I have enjoyed shooting clay targets in the past with a Winchester Model 12 (12 Gauge), so I'm kind of partial to the weight of metal. Now that opinion may change as I spend a little time on the range. It's been at least 25 years since I have fired anything but a long gun.

Can't go wrong with a Glock....IF..... you are OK with the grip angle. Many people love it....many hate it. Deff. try to shoot one.

I would also say to check out the Sig P320....I didn't shot one but it felt like it was made for my hand. Read up on them. They are VERY versitile in that you can swap the frames and slides to have different sizes but it's still technically 1 gun in the laws POV. The trigger mechanism is what has the serial number so everything else can be ordered online...even the frames.

Always the Beretta 92...9mm....metal....lots of mil surplus available for them.

I'm not a big fan of glocks. Great guns but don't like the grip angle. should def try them out first.

I personally really like my m&p9. feels better in the hand for me.
With that said, i love my 1911's. love as in love. but that's just me.

I may not necessarily be the best reference.  My thoughts are as follows:

From time to time there are virtuosos of one kind of another, and they are not seen for generations at a time.  John Moses Browning was one of those.  

If it feeds from a mag, and it's a hand gun, then I am a 1911a1 or variant thereof guy, and I only own one caliber, 45ACP; unless it is a CC backup, then there are a lot of options because when you need it the gun you have in your pocket is better than the one in the safe, no matter what the caliber.  I think my little Walther PPK is just adorable.

If it's a wheel gun, for the most part I like Colt or Ruger.  Rugers are ugly but they work, and cost a whole lot less than a Python.
