Re: Partagas GR Lusitanias - Real or Rebands?

The following statement is totally unsolicited and my opinion only:

I don't know Leo personally, but am familiar with him through FOH (where I go by RoRo).  I know he has a taste for the higher end smokes and I do believe that he gets much of his stock from Oz (excepting the non-Asian RE, of course).  And he's got impeccable ratings here.

While the presentation is certainly lacking in this case, I would be EXTREMELY shocked if he was passing fakies.  I would've ordered from him numerous times without hesitation if I could afford what he's selling, solely from his rep here and on FOH.

Have you tried smoking one of your sticks to see if it passes muster?  Read the PLGR reviews, smoke a standard Party Lusi, and then try one of these "questionable" sticks.

My confidence is very high in what I sold you. I do not know if you rebanded regular production lusi, did a sloppy job, and are now trying to place the blame on me, get a refund and keep the actual gran Reserva. I do not know you, and frankly I do not trust you. I have been a member here for a long time, and the authenticity of what I have sold has never been questioned. I am not a vendor or an lcdh, you could have bought these from them but instead you got them from me at a discount.

How did the system go again?

a) Admit nothing
b) Deny everything
c) Make counter-accusations

Curiouser and curiouser.

That was the plan, but based on his above (counter)accusation, my hunch is that if it doesn't pass muster, the claim will be 'well, now you've smoked one, fake or not they're yours.' Not exactly confidence inspiring to have someone who's apparently well-respected say, basically, 'I know you are but what am I?'

It should be noted that this thread is a follow-on to PMs sent back and forth in which Leo expressly told me to post and ask for opinions after refusing initial polite requests for a return. I can only presume this recent escalation is meant to get this moved to the Battle Zone where fewer people will see it.

The reason I denied your return, is because they are not fake, i do not trust that you haven't compromised the cigars in anyway, and above all, I do not have an extra 1300 laying around. My reputation  here, as well on many boards as well as who I bought these from should speak for themselves.

Well, there's a simple way to resolve this.  Compare fingerprints.

Haha it will come back as some 19 year old cuban virgin who rolled these on her thighs. That's the policy for Gran Reserva right?

Very shady. Give the guy his money back. You should stand behind your sales. If you don't have that money hanging around you shouldn't be selling Grand Reservas. Shameful.

Pretty big fingerprint for a 19 year old virgin unless that virgin's name is Ramon or something. And then I don't even want to think about the thighs involved.

Ok. Was these bought here or on CoH? Second. I got a box of Upmann RR from OZ and the bands on them looked like shit as well. I almost sent them back until I was told I had to pay the tax. Glad I didn't. They were the best RR I have had to date.
Here. I posted on FoH because the claim is that these were sourced from Oz.

This "fucktard" has also bought somewhere north of 10K worth of cigars in that time for the winter stash including, say, a Cohiba Milli Jar and three boxes of 1966s in the last two weeks and hasn't had a problem with anything until now. I'm just laying out the evidence, as I was asked to by the guy I'm 'calling out.'

What, according to you noob "fucktards" are just supposed to bend over and take it?

And wait. Is persianpirate not the fucker who sold CaptainCorojo fakes and came to his defense.

Sure is...

? What does a sale from last month for a different cigar entirely have to do with this case? What a bizarre misdirection.

I guess what I mean to say is that given that the excuse given so far for not reversing the transaction is so farcical it's hard to discount any future specious claims. The point of this thread, initially, was to satisfy a suggestion from Leo in response to my return request, not to create a spectacle.

Listen Leo, I paid you not even a week ago. I expressed my displeasure the same afternoon that I received the box. I'm happy to wait for return payment for whenever, from your prolific box splits, you come across that $1300 again, if that's genuinely the problem. I just want to return an unsatisfactory (to me) product at the original terms. I did as you asked in the PM by posting this thread, why not just do the right thing and reverse this transaction? By doing so we both lose nothing but $8 of shipping (and some goodwill, at this point, I suppose.)
