Elijah Craig 18 is great if you can find some.
Not a big bourbon guy, but 4 Roses is nice, Blantons, Woodford, and I had a single barrel/malt (?) Evan Williams 10 yr old bourbon I enjoyed. All 50 and under save for the Elijah Craig 18.
I really like the Elijah Craig. Have had Pappy 15 yr thanks to one generous fella here and it was indeed good, but the prices now are unreal.

I really like the Elijah Craig 12. Never tried anything older than their 12 year but I'd like to, and will one of these days.
I have two bottles of the parker's heritage down in the basement. Thinking of opening one soon to try. Mine is like 96 proof though. 7th edition.

I love elmer t lee, but it's not a wheater like pappy.
if you are looking for a similar experience to old van rip 10, weller antique 107 proof for about $21 a bottle fits the bill. a steal IMHO.
larceny is a few bucks more and is good, but will go weller antique if available.

So far some great suggestions. Personally like just about all that were said and I have tried. Only my favorite and should be around $40 wasn't mentioned yet. Basil Haydens is well worth the money. Also I just opened a bottle of evan williams single barrel the other day and that was excellent fir about $25.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I picked up the woodford and some more Balvenie at Bevmo. I've had Blantons and enjoyed it but going to find the Elmer's/Craig too. Thanks again.

Don't buy old grand dad 101. Bought a 50ml of it and just now trying it. Bought it for nostalgic reasons....we finished a bottle of it in Healdsburg and chucked the empty bottle in the Russian River. It was my grand dad's whiskey. Evidently, he didn't have what I'd call a refined taste in bourbon. Lol
Would be fun to watch unappreciative buddies play quarters with it though.
Hope you enjoy your selections. I know that you'll like the Elijah Craig. Let us know how you get on.
