An '84 Mattingly that was sold in the 70s? Is that the Upper Deck time traveler edition with the fancy hologram?
[/quote]
I believe you are corrected although it is the limited, limited edition that contains a hermetically sealed piece of toilet paper recovered from the Yankees Locker Room that has been autographed and authenticated by both Mattingly and Charmin

Then it's clearly a fake; Steinbrenner only allows Cottonelle at Yankees stadium.

here is pretty much what I have. Just went through it. The books of star cards are 90% early to mid 80s so not much value there.
Hey Alan, I went through and made a list. Pretty much all of these autographs except for the minor tiger players either me or my father had autographed personally. The book of "star" cards is 90% early mid 80s cards with some in 60s and 70s. The star card is about the same. I tried to highlight what I think are the best ones but these are straight out of the attic from about 87 or 88 only brought down to throw something in everyone in a while or when I moved. I have a couple people interested in the list and will take to local collectable shop later this week if nobody wants them. Let me know if you are interested. Prefer to just sell it all as a lot but might break it up if nobody wants the lot. John

The only card I have is an autographed Mike Scioscia 87 Topps Baseball card. The experience was the best because he was a neighbor down the street when he used to play catcher for the Dodgers! I rang the doorbell with a friend of mine when we were kids and he was recovering from knee surgery. His wife asked him to come out (on crutches). He smiled, spent a few minutes with us, and signed our baseball cards!!!
A highlight of my childhood memories!

Yes it was a great experience, we also were able to take some pictures of us with him (his wife took the pictures)
Very memorable!

Trying to complete the Topps 1963 set myself.....it's my birth year. Still need Pete's card - ha!
Also have complete sets from 1973, 1974, and 1975 and many of loose singles from 1969 to about 1977. Those were my years of collecting as a kid. Back then you didn't collect cards or players because they would be valuable one day. Got back into it in the mid 80's when it got hot again.....what a waste of money! I have lots of complete sets from those years. I have autographed baseballs from Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, Bo Jackson, Harmon Killebrew, Tony Gwynn, Don Larsen, Roberto Alomar (signed his rookie year), Lou Brock, Hank Aaron, and a few others.
Hope it will have some value one day, but it sure is fun to look back at the cards from the mid 70s and see my favorite players from when I was kid....players that were semi-stars back then that you kinda forget about these days. Guys like John Mayberry, Boog Powell, Frank White, Chris Chambliss, Cookie Rojas, Gaylord Perry, "The Penguin" Ron Cey, etc.....
