I don't like 'Dolphins' either (Flippers).  :horse:
But, a member asks a price. 95% of the time, if I don't think it's fair, I move on and not complain about it. Only twice have I made an offer on items for sale here (today was the second time). I generally don't do that but in the recent case, it's a lot that doesn't come due often that I like but is well over MSRP.

I guess what I'm saying, just don't buy. If they get froze out enough when their sticks don't sell, then they'll quit offering them up. But there's the problem. There are those who will buy some of them no matter what they're priced at. If the buyer agrees to buy and the seller agrees to sell, what's the big deal? IF THEY'RE TOO HIGH, THEN JUST DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Nah, it's just more fun to cry and start countless threads about "flippers", "gougers", etc.  The bitching penny pinchers participating in this drama are no better for the hobby than those they call out here.

I like the threads about gougers and flippers.  For starter if you don't think manufacturers see what there product sells for on the secondary market and raise prices accordingly then you are naïve.  So gougers raise prices for all of us that would like to buy cigars at a reasonable price.

Secondly flippers suck cause they buy HTF and LE stuff with no intention of smoking them but to turn a profit selling.  That is BS in my eyes.  Cigars were meant to be enjoyable not a means to rip people off cause you saw the release date before someone else.  Take the CQ1s for instance.  I wanted more then 1 box but the shop limited to 1 box per address.  Fine with me if that's all I can get.  Then I see people listing here multiple boxes at a 30% increase.  Thanks for screwing over those that didn't have a chance to buy them right away.  By the way I live in NJ and a box of CQ1s delivered was $107 so anyone outside of cal that says they paid more is lying.  So I have 1 box and refuse to pay $130 for another cause that will only allow this cycle of flippers and gougers to hang around longer.

MSRP is also rarely paid when things are not bought on the secondary market.  I like that people are being informed that the prices are ridiculous.  Maybe one day it will get back to the point were 1 person may see that he has something another would like to try and offers at fair value not 30,40 or 50% markup.

I agree with the above, of course I wouldn't buy it it I was not happy with the price.

That's not my point.  My point was that if a cigar is still in stock online, (and you are selling it at a premium) and at the same time saying it is a htf limited stick, you are trying to take advantage... (probably from a newbie who is not as informed).

When someone is blatently lying in the description of an item, it really speaks volumes for their character.  I could not imagine being desperate enough to make $50 in such a way.

I am all for a free market economy, but when you misrepresent the facts about the supply, I personally question the motives of the seller.  I would assume most people would stop being sharks when you are dealing with a community of hobbyist and so called BOTL.

At the end of the day, I couldn't care less, I wouldn't fall for this type of stuff--- but like I said, it was just a heads up to the new guy out there. Everyone was the new guy at some point.

Just my .02.

Me bitchin about people who are bitchin about other people bitchin about prices.  Personnally, I believe in the free market society we have going on here at OLH.  I do get a little incensed when I see current cigars, LE or HTF or whatever included, being flipped for a huge profit.  I agree that its sad that some find it necessary to make $50 profit on a $100 box of cigars to fund their purchases or just out of greed.  It totally believe that it reduces the number of LE/HTF boxes available to those of us who buy such items to smoke.  When I see this happen I simply add that person to my own no-trade list and move on.

So, I am truly bitchin about the people who don't think other forum member have the right to call BS when they see it and inform the newbie that they are being gouged.  Maybe one day I'll get to move from the penny pincher camp to the cool kids camp and pay "whatever" for my cigars and look down my nose at anyone who can't afford to pay what I can afford to pay.
