Sorry brother, not an illegal search at all. The people are being treated like shit in your opinion, so what? You were not there so you are basing it on the video. The police involved in that ordeal are not going to be taking any chances and too bad some people got their feelings hurt. That perimeter was set up from the night before so its still active. There is no way those cops were searching every house inside and out for 20 blocks. That's would take a week. Again, if they got any reasonable suspicion that suspect #2 was near or in a house they can go in, and search. Brother, I've done the same thing a ton of times and its perfectly legal even if it bugs you...

They did what to be walked out like that ?
Sorry but not coming in without a warrant. I don't care what the circumstances are.

Having to leave your house at gun point was at the tippy top of the founding father's "dont's" list.

Brother, no offense, but unless there was hot pursuit, consent or plain view, it isn't legal, believe me even if it bugs you. It is a warrantless search. I've given this legal opinion a ton of times. I don't blame the front line cops, but getting the bad guy doesn't cut it.

Hot pursuit.. that perimeter was going on from the night before and continued to a active search for the suspect, so any info the officers get would be considered Hot Pursuit therefor allowing them to go in and search. Can you tell me when a hot pursuit ends legally? But lets go back to the video in question. There is nothing there but a video of the cops pulling some people out of a house and searching it. There is no other info, so you really cant jump to conclusions and say what they did is illegal.

I'm not sure what that statement means, but you obviously have no clue on police tactics or procedures. Do you really think that if the cops have the reason to search your house for a murder suspect they are not going to have their guns drawn on everyone who comes out of that pad before they search it. Really?? That's police 101..

No point to this thread without the facts, otherwise it's all speculation and personal opinion.
Even without a warrant...if there was a lead given that led them to this home looking for that SOB, then I see nothing wrong here.
Mistreated? Why, because they had to put their hands over their head and jog a little? If that's my family... I'd sacrifice a little bit of pride to help ensure that fucking bastard didn't get an opportunity to hurt anyone else.
But that's just me..

Nor is there enough to say it is legal. Obviously they opened the door after a knock, they did not resist, but to be brought out at gunpoint is a bit much.
Maybe they had doughnuts ?

Amazing how clueless some people are. Yah, searching for a multiple murder bombing suspect and the police should not have there guns out while searching for him.

There are nuances and a ton of legal decisions on hot pursuit, but a house to house based on the suspect being in the general area isn't going to cut it anywhere. And, you are correct that strictly viewing the video, we cannot say the cops had not just seen one of the 2 suspects run in there, I guess. Doubt it, but I can't rule it out based strictly on the video. I think the premise was that this was a house to house and, in that case, would be illegal. You can add a lot of facts that would change the premise and justify the actions. But my gut tiells me there were a ton of these going on that day. The principals of our democracy are always tested under the worst of times.

I would fully expect them to have their guns drawn. Self preservation is natural. But they better have a reason to be in my home -- consent (I agree or call the police) hot pusuit (they see the guy run into my house) or plain view (I open the door and they see the murder suspect sitting at my kitchen table). We cannot become a police state and that is truly tested in situations like this. And I am happy to say I don't know about police "tactics," nor should I ever have to know. That is what they are paid for -- and I have the inaliable right to be left alone in all but the most limited of circumstances, brother.

Well, this could go back and forth all day long and that video doesn't show shit besides the cops searching a house. I'll end it here...Peace out
