some clarity here...good friend of mine had a sour deal but it appears that it wasnt due to scumbag tendencies (as strictly defined by this board)...more like the old box split trick where the buyer gets his end free by marking up for the participants...so this does not mean he is selling fake cigars or will take you for your money...I think an apology is in order from me...sorry JayHemingway...I posted quickly thinking someone would jump on the great prices for HTF stuff...

Unlike most of you dick heads, i have actually smoked with several of the people you guys attack as selling fake cigars and or their pricing on cigars (for instance in this case, Jay Hemingway at Shack several years ago).  I simply asked the OP a question, run along, nothing to see here unless you started this thread or have information pertaining to that question.

Hello.  I noticed this discussion on Jay Hemingway and wanted to tell you that I've dealt with Jay on several occasions and bought from him several HCF sticks.  He is legit.  Maybe you are confusing him with another Jay.  Hope this is helpful.

I hardly post on OLH but I have stick up for Jay. Jay is legit as it comes, bought from him many times in the past and nothing has EVER came across as suspicious. He's ace in my book.

Haven't been active on the boards much these past few months but I figured I'd throw my two cents in as I believe it's pertinent.  I have personally dealt with Jay Hemingway in the past and found him to be trustworthy.  Transactions went smoothly and he was generous to a fault.  Additionally, he resides in NJ NOT FLA where Jay Barbour resides!  Please see link below.

My transactions in the past with Jay have been fine with no problems and product was as advertised.  Not worried about what I have taken from this lot and what I did pick up all prices are in line.

a few things gentlemen.....

i have not been around the cigar boards lately, mostly due to extensive amount of my time,money and love going mostly to my other love of cars (i have a pretty worked 02 subaru wrx turbo tuned at an extremely fun 304 all wheel horsepower)..
this may be the reason some may not see me all over the boards as i once was.
i do have plenty of feedback posted on various boards, mostly ICC, FOH and Cigar Asylum. a few years back i was an active member of many cigar boards, International Cigar Club (home board), Friends of Habanos, Cigar Aficionado, Cigar Asylum, Vintage Cuban Cigar Club ,BOTL.org, Cigar Family(more of a lurker here,ha!) and the old infamous Club Stogie (RIP stupid PUFF) to name a few. i was fortunate enough to be given my own gallery on Trevors (from Australia) well known CubanCigarWebsite.com from the trust I had gained in the community. it did not hurt that my camera also takes wonderful
pictures of many wonderful habanos (i can not take full credit here for the camera i use is tits!).
In this time i have never, ever, ever received bad or negative feedback from any of the BOTL's i have been
fortunate enough to have shared cigars and conversation with.

this whole Jay Barbour garbage is the same exact thing i went through when i joined CF (thus one main reason why i mostly chose to lurk there instead of contribute, due to the string 'em up and hang 'em attitude, that i can now see has completely made it's way here to OLH). i truly must give most guys too much credit when i would assume most of us BOTL would not think someone who happens to share the same name, must be THE SAME GUY!  derp a derp a derp (come on really guys, REALLY?).

Bill, Ricardo, Brian, Jay, Huy and anyone else who came to my defense here, much obliged! greatly appreciated. it is a shame that some can be so confident in calling someone a scumbag, they could even swear that someone with this EXACT username of Jay Hemingway has without a single doubt in their minds, done bad dealings on another board before.....when they actually have no clue what they are talking about.....

i would like to wrap this up, ill do so by answering a few questions that may be worth mentioning...

i DO NOT own CubanCigarWebsite.com (Trevor would shit if he heard that! lol he has poured his entire soul into that thing and all credit is completely due to him). He gave me a gallery in it to post some of my cigar photography. the reason i even mentioned this in my post is so folks could actually see some of the cigars before they pulled the trigger. to recall, i don't think i have ever been given that option during a private sale, maybe i'm on to something? lol

yes dunhill cabinetta for $300. it's only one stick (that i am willing to give up) and i happened to only pay $275 for it 4 or 5 years ago. here i am adding $20 (not including the $5 i added for shipping) for age value thinking i may get reamed for up-selling and no, i am being reamed for not selling it for enough! ha ha ha that's rich gents.
i don't buy habanos to sell or make profits, i buy them to smoke and share with friends. i just happen to need some extra cash here to fix my car, that's it. if anyone wants to give me $500 for it, i'll be happy top take it! as for now i am only asking $300.
the rest of my prices are all pretty much on, being fair.

mbflash, judging by your last few posts, it seems you are sorry for the mistake, i do accept the apology. i believe your intentions were for the best interest of the group, this could be a learning experience for many, a little recon before you drop bombs. a few folks may have read this thread and have passed judgment on me already, even though you had the wrong man. no matter what is done to fix the mistake, the damage may be permanent.
also i may be misunderstanding your post about a friend getting a bad taste in his mouth by a past box split? however if i am not, i can assure you i have NEVER done a box split where i was the seller. i have put in on a few but i have never put one together, ever. it was not me my friend.

Jay...it appears I royally fucked this thing up...if I could have deleted this thread I would have...best of luck to you and your sale...I remember the confusion over jaybarbour and I should have remembered that you had nothing to do with it...but as I am apt to do every once in a while...I insert foot into mouth...again my apologies to you sir.
