Its probably just me then... I tend to find alot of the My Father and DPG stuff spicy and ashy, but thats all.  I guess its just not my taste favorite.  Alot of people rave over the LP T52 blend too, but I think its absolutely terrible....and I will take an LP #9 anyday over the T52.

I don't know if it matters, but there are actually two different "Special S" cigars, and each are different blends...One is an event only cigar, and one is being sold by large cigar stores (but was only sent to them)...

I really enjoyed the couple I had (with the band that looks like the Centurion band), but have not tried the other one as of yet...

Really, I didn't like the special S at all... to me it was ashy garbage.  I smoked 1 of the 3 I had and sold the other 2... for being a special event only cigar, I didn't think it was too special.  Then again, alot of event only sticks have left me disappointed.

I have never seen the Centurian band...but I remember when I was smoking the one I did happen to smoke that the band looked a little like the Superman logo, and after I was done, I remember laughing to myself thinking that logo and band was on the wrong cigar...

The Centurian in the Lancero vitola is absolutly amazing.  I bought a couple  of the old Pepin holiday lancero samplers just two get the two Centurian Lanceros.  If you ever get the chance jump on it.

I see in the link that halfwheel gave it a 96.  I know thats one mans opinion but I say he is dead on.

Thanks for the heads up... I have 1 of those Don Pepin Lancero Holiday samplers in my humidor and I completely forgot that the Centurian Lancero was even in there...  This may sound kind of funny, I personally think the DPG stuff has not aged well at all, but the last Series JJ Lancero and Blue Label Lancero I smoked from that 5 year old Lancero collection (about 6-8 months ago) were both very good... I will try the Centurian Lancero the next time the weather is going to give me enough time smoke it.

Lucky you.  I didn't enjoy the other blend lanceros from the collection nearly as much as the centurian lanceros. I think you will be pleasently surprised.  All the spice is gone, except for maybe a hint on the retrohale.  It is smooth, creamy and delicious.  Look forward to hearing your thoughts when you smoke it.

Wait,  if you have the collection, then that means you have two lanceros. One to smoke and the other  to list on here for sale!!! Make sure you let me know ahead of time before you put it up!!  :cal:
