I posted the first TC here for devilsmoke. After checking him out as best I could online, I went ahead with a purchase of a 3-pack of My Father Special S. The 3-pack, which reportedly is only available at events, came in the expected cardboard pack of 3 cigars and I have thoroughly enjoyed 2 of them. Mike's response of trying to build a presence here seems plausible to me so far. If anybody is interested, I can email you my "investigation notes on devilsmoke". If I lived in Arizona I would have checked out Anthony's Cigar Emporium (and Mike) in person, but I am totally satisfied with the transaction that I did have with devilsmoke; I didn't see anything at all that I could/would complain about. The use of "devilsmoke" as a handle, rather than using a company name, suggests to me "an employee of", which certainly isn't an unusual thing on cigar boards. The only thing I didn't do, that maybe I should have, was to place a phone call to Anthony's Cigar Emporium to make sure things are on the up-and-up, but I have a phone-phobia of sorts.

Thanks for the extensive notes, Jim. Here's the latest email I've received from devilsmoke:
We will ck your olh credit and send w/ pmt after delivery assuming acceptable olh credit, ok?
I'll keep everyone posted on how this plays out. If all goes well, this will be, as my people say, "Such a deal!"

I have had those My Father S three packs on several occasions from a seller here. One of my favorite reasonably priced NC's.

I had 1 3-pack of the My Father Special S event cigars, I smoked 1 and sold the other 2...I wasn't overly impressed with them. Not sure if those are the same cigars being discussed here, but mine were spicey and ashy with no other discernable flavors. Definitely not worth the 10-12 bucks they usually get, but maybe I just didn't give them enough time to rest.
This thread is about the Padron 85ths though...so, I hope Pete gets legit cigars, as that price is incredible.

If "devilsmoke" is really mike, I buy from him regularly and he is a hell of a guy to deal with....I've bought 25+ boxes from him over the past few years.

Mike is a great guy. Got a Viaje HB 2011 Torp box from him, and getting a LFD Colorado box from as well. He quoted me the best prices I have ever seen on both.

FWIW, I have been to Anthony's many times. One of the best B&M's in Tucson. They have a sizeable humidor and are consistently stocked up on cigars you don't see often in other places (God of Fire, 100 Anos, etc).
I have no idea who Mike is as I don't recall the names of the employee's. Real bad with names.
I have however seen the same deal posted on other sites with the same username and the phone number he listed in those ads was for Anthony's.
Buyer always beware. I am in no way vouching for this, just giving what I know.
