To be fair I was never offered an actual price on my ISO walrus tusks or ISO beedog holiday art

To be fair, you are a towel.

I thought your thread was about people who are ISO sticks at a good price and then have their buddy sell them a few days later for 50% profit.

No.... but thats real annoying too. Just bad business.
IMHO, I just think too highly of people sometimes. Every time I look at the TSBC forum, I always give a quick look at at-least two pages deep, and obviously read the titles. When I decide to unload some sticks, I'll be sure to look at the first couple of pages and see if anyone is in search of them and shoot a PM letting that person know Im about to put them up for sale but if they still wanted them, they had first dibs. Guess I was just raised different.

And on the other side of the coin, I have answered ISO only to never hear back. I have dug through the humi when a box or date was requested, to never hear back. I have been told they don't like the price, so I list and it sells in less than five minutes. So, sometimes it's just not worth the hassle when someone wants something for less than you bought it (and they are ISO).

+1 I have answered a lot of ISO posts with no response and if they do answer they never respond after you give them a price. I sold a box once after responding to a ISO and the guy said it was to high, after I dug it out of the humi I didn't feel like putting it back so I sold it.

I did that in reverse I saw some prick selling SS maduros for two bills plus so my first and only sale here was a box of SS maduros at cost. Just to make a point and I love them so was lucky to get 11 boxes so I shared a few boxes with friends as well.
I also was putting up ISO's for Franks every six months or so and it finally worked a great guy from CF sold me a box for a fair deal when he could have made another $150 kind of renewed my faith in people a little. BTW if your here Thanks Again they are delicious!

If I am selling something, I often do a quick scan of the first page or two to see if anyone wants what I have.
On the flip side...ISO means "In Search Of", implying to me that they are seeking actively, not just dropping a hook in the water, checking PMs once every two days, and hoping someone hits back.
If by chance I launch a sale thread closely behind an ISO thread looking for what I am offering, I don't feel an obligation to contact them, although I may if time permits. They are the ones "searching". When I am ISO of something I want, I do the leg work, not expecting others to provide me the service of first contact, although that is a pleasure when it happens.

My ISO experiences here have been very good. Offers on items I am looking for, couple offers for thing very close or similar (McGoo has been very helpful).
I've had the ability to help 2 members with some CCs. And I know the appreciated the help. That makes me feel good.
I also bought a couple HTF items and sold them at cost hoping to help those looking. I bought 15 Wolfmans total and only kept 4, rest sold at cost.
It's all about the rep you want to build. I fucked up and called TL a BOTL because he gave me a stick, and didn't have the balls to stand up and say "something isn't right here." Moving forward, I want to help where I can, be a contributing and respected member of the community.
Some just want to move product. And that's cool. Different strokes for different folks. I've met some amazing people through various cigar communities. Someday I would like to be thought of the same way as some of those i've been able to interact with.

ISO=In Search Of
If you are ISO, keep your eyes peeled for new listings. Otherwise you are SOL. TIA, and YMMV.
HAGW, and MCTA, AAGN.
